Dave Matthews prefers EXP16's on his acoustic, what's your flavor?
D'Addario EXP Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings provide more sound per strum than traditional non-coated strings!
"D'Addario EXP strings provide insurance against corrosion and tarnish. The coating helps preserve the crisp tone that Dave prefers." - Monk (Dave Matthew's guitar tech)
D'Addario EXP Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings offer a warm, well balanced acoustic tone, with bright intonation and a "fret-friendly" round wound feel of traditional non-coated strings, that last 3 to 4 times longer. The micro-fine EXP coating on the wrap wire, and the compound plated steel strings, resist corrosion, extending the same natural tone and feel you would get from the best selling D'Addario EJ Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings.
D’Addario’s EXP Coated Strings now feature plain steel strings and
hexagonal cores made of our revolutionary NY High Carbon Steel.
Envisioned, perfected, and manufactured by D’Addario in New York, this newly
engineered, break-resistant, high-carbon steel wire delivers unprecedented
strength and pitch stability. Combined with the highest quality wrap wire
materials, precision drawn and micro-coated on our advanced proprietary
machinery, each EXP set maintains that familiar uncoated tone while adding up to
4 times more life!

D'Addario has incorporated Corrosion Intercept Technology with their environmentally friendly packaging to insure your strings are green, and fresh for the pickin'!
The application of Corrosion Intercept Technology, developed by Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs, is the most significant development in string packaging since D'Addario pioneered the environmental string package in 1992. Each Corrosion Intercept bag employs a plastic which contains a gas-neutralizing barrier in the polymer matrix. This barrier reacts with and neutralizes gasses which cause materials to tarnish, guaranteeing that your D'Addario strings are as fresh and tarnish-free as the day we packaged them. Since Corrosion Intercept bags are both environmentally friendly and completely recyclable, they'll keep our planet untarnished as well.
Also, as a result of D'Addario's Player's Points Program, several tons of packaging redeemed for D'Addario gear gets systematically recycled every year.
